More about Dr. Lamoureux...

The debate between "Evolution" and "Creation" is over, not because either side has won, but because we've stopped listening.  The drone of their vuvulezas has been tuned out.  It hurts our ears.

But it nags at us.  Irreconcilable truths create an unnatural burden.  Their discord haunts us.  We seek harmony.  We expect elegance.  We long for resolution - a single, consistent truth. But on the topic of human origins, the solution eludes us.

Join us as Denis Lamoureux, DDS, Ph.D, Ph.D, author of Evolutionary Creation and I Love Jesus and I Accept Evolution, explores this topic in depth. Dr. Lamoureux, Associate Professor of Science and religion at St. Joseph's College in the University of Alberta, holds doctoral degrees in dentistry, theology, and biology.  He is uniquely qualified to discuss the scientific, theological, and practical aspects of human origins, as these are the focus of his professional career.

As an evolutionary biologist, Dr. Lamoureux accepts the scientific account of human origins, and supports it through his research.  As a conservative theologian, he believes in God as our Creator, and affirms that God's inerrant word is revealed to us in the Bible.  For Dr. Lamoureux, the discord has been resolved in elegant harmony.

"Beyond the Debate" will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 7PM at the Freedom Optimist Community Center in Sykesville, MD.  Dr. Lamoureux will present five distinct views on human origins, demonstrating that the topic cannot be reduced to an either-or approach.  He will continue with his personal experiences reconciling the science of evolution and his faith in God, and conclude with an extended and undoubtedly lively Q&A session, plus a book signing session.

If you're interested in the topic of human origins, this event is for you. All are welcome, regardless of scientific or religious background.  While Dr. Lamoureux espouses the position of "Evolutionary Creation", his lecture, Q&A session, and personal discussions will be respectful of all positions.

Early registration is highly encouraged as seating for this event will be limited.
